Property information software on its way to Bay County

Bay City and County [Michigan] officials are working on a new Web site that will allow residents to look up photographs of local parcels of land. Aided by a $17,000 Homeland Security grant, the two are combining resources and hope to have the site - www.baygis.org - running by the beginning of February. A similar program has been successful in Saginaw County.

The Saginaw Area Geographic Information Systems Authority implemented its Web site in 2005 to help residents find information about parcels of property. Two years later, the response is overwhelmingly positive.
