For most of the year, the FCC has been weighing its options on the topic of net neutrality. The topic gets a lot of attention from the tech world, but mainstream media doesn't really cover it.
Then, President Obama released a video to the FCC supporting net neutrality and calling for sweeping changes to the way broadband providers are classified, among other changes.
Republican Sen. Ted Cruz responded by calling net neutrality "Obamacare for the Internet," and Internet providers weighed in with their arguments against net neutrality. Pro-net neutrality advocates fired back, and now we're looking at a full-blown political fight.
I know that's left a lot of you wondering what this whole thing is even about. You're hearing that net neutrality is the only way to save the Internet, or that it will be the end of the Internet. It obviously can't be both.
