Steven J. Anderson Promoted to Principal at Applied Geographics

Steven J. Anderson has been promoted to the position of Principal by Boston-based Applied Geographics, Inc. (AGI). Anderson has served as the Director of Business Development and a Project Director for AGI since early 2001, and manages the companyŐs office in Manchester, Connecticut. Anderson has over nineteen years of experience in survey, digital mapping, CADD, GIS, and permitting. He began his career in 1983 as a survey rod man, and worked through all aspects of surveying from field to office. Anderson made the transition to GIS technology in 1986, achieving a leadership position as a consultant and project manager for state and local governments around the country.


Intergraph Selected by City of Siegburg Germany

Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions said the City of Siegburg Germany selected Intergraph's GeoMedia® WebMap Professional as the new technology for the foundation of its SiGIS geographical information system. SiGIS provides city departments with comprehensive access to geospatial data. The city maintains more than 25 different types of information – from statistic, cadastral and real estate information to tourist and utilities information – to serve more than 35,000 residents.


ImageLinks Achieves Top-Ten CELTIC Pathfinder Rating

ImageLinks said that its Open Source Software Image Map (OSSIM) and Active Archive ranked in the top 10 of the National Imagery and Mapping Agency’s (NIMA) Commercial Electronic Light Table for the Intelligence Community (CELTIC) Pathfinder assessment. The CELTIC Pathfinder assessment focused on next generation image analysis and manipulation tools in a field of 300 software packages. OSSIM and Active Archive were evaluated on 261 functions by 16 organizations from the U.S. intelligence community. From 17 finalists, 10 products were chosen for hands-on technical evaluations. The ImageLinks products ranked eighth in overall expert ratings and first in the mosaic-only category. OSSIM was the only Beta product.


BusinessMAP Travel Edition 2 Now Shipping

ESRI released of BusinessMAP Travel Edition. “Our newest database mapping software is much more than a travel planner,” said Bill McNeil, manager of ESRI’s Business Products Group. “BusinessMAP Travel Edition offers the business traveler access to a large number of data and map sets such as consumer expenditure and Dun & Bradstreet business listings. For a small additional cost, our users can even access European, Canadian, and digital elevation city maps plus aerial photos. This software is so easy to use that virtually anyone can create, populate, and print a map quickly.”
