Will Embed 3D Viewing and Analysis in M.App X for Defense and Intelligence Agencies
In his keynote delivered at HxGN LIVE in Las Vegas, Hexagon Geospatial president Mladen Stojic announced plans to add 3D support for M.App X. To better support image analysis and exploitation workflows, 3D viewing and analysis will be embedded directly into the browser-based image exploitation product.
Working in 3D brings a whole new level of understanding to the process of analyzing imagery Brad Skelton, Senior Product Engineer
M.App X is a lightweight browser-based client that provides image exploitation capabilities that previously required a high-end workstation. This enterprise solution gives System Integrators an extensive platform to deliver innovative geospatial solutions tailored to a specific environment. M.App X includes a rich web-based client application for all users to create and share information across the enterprise. M.App X also provides tools to capture geospatial tradecraft and share it as dynamic services across the enterprise.
Geospatial cloud technologies are not new, but they are often restricted to two dimensions. To best perform their intelligence gathering, analysts need to be able to visualize their data in a 3D experience that better reflects the real world.
“Working in 3D brings a whole new level of understanding to the process of analyzing imagery,” said Brad Skelton, Senior Product Engineer. “Switching easily from a local 2D view to a global 3D view provides immediate understanding of location and being able to tilt the scene and move along the valleys and peaks in a scene gives a very real feel for the terrain and spatial relationships that are just not apparent from a static flat view.”
