Geotag Security for your digital photos

www.geotagsecurity.com

When posting a photo on your favorite Social Network, online photo gallery, or web page, you are inviting danger. When we upload these photos we are telling potential predators our exact location.

Most smartphones and some cameras made today are equipped with geo tags. Geo tags are imbedded in the picture and use the same concept as GPS. The geo tag in the photo is a smart tool that allows the photo to be tagged to an exact location. Unless you know where to find and disable this function on your camera you are at risk.

Geotag Security goes through all of your existing files and removes the geo tags. How does it accomplish this? The software checks all files in selected folders. It will remove the unwanted geo tags from your computer, file by file. (Just in case your photos are in other files not just in your picture file folder). The PRO-version helps to insure any new photos you put onto your hard drive are scanned and the geo tags removed immediately.

Basic program is free; pro version is $19.95

Intermap Technologies to provide 3D Digital Map and Image Data

www.intermap.com

Intermap Technologies received a USD $12.4 million contract to provide 3D digital elevation models and orthorectified radar images as part of a National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) program to update the client’s current 1:50,000-scale base map. The geospatial data will be used for topographic map production to manage sustainable forestry projects and to support other local infrastructure needs.

Under the terms of the agreement, Intermap will begin collecting the data in January 2011 via interferometric synthetic aperture radar (IFSAR). Prior to data delivery, Intermap will also provide training to the client on the creation of topographic maps.. The Company’s airborne IFSAR data collection system was chosen as the best option for collecting data in rugged areas obscured by prevailing cloud cover.

“Our ability to quickly collect high-resolution elevation data and images in remote regions of the world continues to provide value for our geospatial customers,” commented Todd Oseth, president & CEO for Intermap Technologies. “This contract demonstrates the confidence our customers have in our technical expertise, ability to execute and deliver, and mapping products we provide in the custom-collection mapping services industry.”

PECI and Paragon Consulting Services Join Forces

www.paragonconsultingservices.com

PECI, a provider of innovative energy efficiency solutions, and Paragon Consulting Services, a professional consulting service providing demand response expertise to the utility industry, today announce they are joining under the PECI name. By integrating, the two companies will expand their reach and broaden the energy expertise available to utility clients and the industry at large, providing a complete solution for integrated Demand Side Management (iDSM).

The combined Paragon-PECI team brings the total staff to about 350 people with offices in Portland and San Francisco, as well as remote offices across the United States. The integrated companies will operate as PECI, and Paragon staff will work out of PECI’s Portland office.

“Energy efficiency is about using less energy, and demand response focuses on using less energy at peak times,” said PECI Executive Director Phil Welker. “We see those complementary solutions coming together as utilities seek alternatives to building new power plants. PECI’s and Paragon’s combined expertise will meet the growing demand for iDSM solutions by offering our clients greater depth of resource. Our aim is to help move the entire market toward more holistic approaches to energy management.”

Paragon President Joe Kelly stated, “Our staff has decades of experience in demand response, technical evaluation and program design. We’re excited about augmenting PECI’s offerings.”
