2007 ESRI Federal User Conference

www.esri.com/feduc

ESRI announces that the 2007 Federal User Conference (FedUC) will be held January 9–11, 2007, at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Conference attendees will gain insights into the latest geographic information system (GIS) software and solutions for unique federal problems. Discussion and demonstrations will address how GIS is used to improve coordination and information sharing, reduce costs, increase productivity, and enhance decision making. Attendees at FedUC will include federal government professionals from disciplines such as defense, demographics, law enforcement, and health. State and local government professionals are also encouraged to attend. GIS users at all levels of government can take advantage of this opportunity to learn how GIS is utilized throughout the nation and build strong networks for improved problem solving.

“FedUC is one of the largest events dedicated to GIS and is 100 percent focused on government,” says ESRI government industry manager Christopher Thomas. “What we find there is an integration of executives, people dedicated to federal missions, staff from state and local governments, and GIS professionals all in one setting. This gives attendees a great community that’s both an educational forum and town hall setting where they can exchange ideas. Collaboration is a consistent theme in government, and FedUC is a great place to exercise collaboration.”

Aero-Metric Purchases 2nd Z/I Imaging DMC

www.intergraph.com/

Intergraph Corporation today announced Aero-Metric, one of the largest photogrammetric and geospatial services firms in North America, has acquired its second Z/I Imaging® DMC® (Digital Mapping Camera). Aero-Metric experienced outstanding results with its first DMC purchased in late 2003, and the firm's move toward a fully digital workflow has prompted the purchase of a second camera. Aero-Metric will use the second camera to expand its existing digital photogrammetric production projects and provide shorter and higher-quality image production cycles, as the organization moves to a fully soft-copy production line. As a result, Aero-Metric's customers will more quickly receive high-quality data that offers true natural color and accurate stereo imagery.

“Our first Intergraph Z/I Imaging DMC allowed us to capture digital frame imagery simultaneously in all bands,” said Patrick Olson, Senior Vice-President of Aero-Metric. “With this second DMC, we are able to increase our capacity to deliver superior image quality, providing our industrial customers and federal, state and local government agencies with unmatched image precision and resolution.”
