Selected as MapInfo’s e-government site of the month, State of New York Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) created a terrific service. It provides quick and easy access to fares, schedules, station locations, driving directions and more. Choose a station from the list and scroll down to “Get Driving Directions” to see MapInfo technology at work. Presently, the areas for Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad provide this level of information.

NSGIC

NSGIC is particularly concerned with creation of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). The technology behind the NSDI helps to create intelligent maps and databases that enable public and private decision makers to make better informed and more timely decisions in a wide array of governmental areas.
